| Category-wise Vacancies | The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced 474 vacancies for the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2026, also known as the Indian Engineering Services (IES) exam. Vacancies are across four engineering disciplines in Group A and Group B Central Engineering Services.
Reservations for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD are as per central government rules. Officers recruited are posted to premier engineering organisations such as CPWD, CWC, BRO, MES, Railway Electrical/Signal, and DRDL. |

| Educational Qualification | Candidates must hold a B.E. / B.Tech degree in the relevant engineering discipline from a recognised university or institution. Additionally:
Candidates in the final year of their engineering degree are eligible to apply provisionally but must produce the degree certificate at the time of the Personality Test. |
