Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognised Indian university. Crucially, candidates must be able to read, write, and speak Marathi as the state language of Maharashtra is a mandatory requirement for all posts.

No specific minimum percentage is mandated for the degree. Final-year degree students are not eligible — the degree must be complete before the application deadline.

🏆 Selection Process

  1. Preliminary Examination (May 31, 2026, qualifying): Two objective papers — GS Paper I and GS Paper II (CSAT), 200 marks each, 2 hours each. Total 400 marks. Marks are used only for shortlisting and not counted in merit.
  2. Main Examination (October 3, 17, 18, 24, 2026, merit-based): Descriptive papers covering General Studies I–IV and language papers (Marathi/English). Mains marks form the basis of final ranking.
  3. Interview / Personality Test: 275 marks. Conducted by the MPSC board at Mumbai/Pune. Assesses knowledge, administrative aptitude, and personality.
  4. Final Merit: Combined marks of Mains + Interview. Post allotment based on merit and expressed preference at the time of application.
