Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognised Indian university. No minimum percentage is required for the degree.

Punjabi language requirement: Candidates must have passed Matriculation (Class 10) with Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject, or an equivalent Punjabi language proficiency examination.

Age Limit 21 – 37 years
Age Relaxation General: 21–37 years (as on January 1, 2025). SC/Backward Class of Punjab: up to 42 years (+5). Punjab Government Employees (5+ years service): up to 45 years (+8). Widows/Divorced Women: up to 42 years. Physically Handicapped: up to 47 years (+10).

🏆 Selection Process

  1. Preliminary Examination (December 7, 2025, qualifying): Two objective papers — Paper I (General Studies, 200 marks, 100 questions, 2 hours) and Paper II (CSAT, qualifying — minimum 40% required). Marks NOT counted in merit.
  2. Main Examination (April 1–10, 2026, merit-based): Seven descriptive papers — Punjabi (qualifying), English (qualifying), Essay (150 marks), and General Studies I–IV (250 marks each). Total merit = 1,350 marks from written papers.
  3. Interview / Personality Test: Marks per PPSC notification. Conducted for Mains shortlisted candidates. Assesses administrative aptitude and personality.
  4. Document Verification and Medical Examination: Final-stage verification of certificates and physical fitness.

  4. Upload your photograph and signature as per specified dimensions (JPG format).
  5. Pay the application fee: Rs. 1,500 (General); Rs. 750 (SC/ST/Backward Class of Punjab); Rs. 500 (EWS/PwD/Ex-Servicemen). Payment via online banking or debit card.
  6. Submit the application and note your application number. Admit card for the Prelims will be available on ppsc.gov.in before the exam date.
