🏆 Selection Process

SSC CGL 2026 selection involves two computer-based examination tiers. There is no interview — final merit is determined entirely by examination performance.

  1. Tier 1 (Qualifying CBE): A 60-minute online objective test covering four subjects. Tier 1 marks are NOT included in the final merit. The test is used only to shortlist candidates for Tier 2 based on category-wise cutoffs.
  2. Tier 2 (Merit-Based CBE): A multi-session examination held on the same day. Paper I is mandatory for all posts and determines final merit ranking. Paper II (Statistics) is conducted separately for candidates applying to the JSO post. A Computer Knowledge Module and Data Entry Speed Test are qualifying components within Paper I.

Post-wise Document Verification follows Tier 2. No further interview or personality test is conducted.
