✅ Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed the 12th Standard (Class XII) examination from a recognised Board of Education. No minimum percentage is required for most posts.

  • For Data Entry Operator (C&AG): 12th pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject, plus a typing speed of 8,000 key depressions per hour on a computer.
  • For LDC/JSA and PA/SA: 12th pass in any stream. A minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute (English) or 30 words per minute (Hindi) is required for the Skill Test stage.

🏆 Selection Process

SSC CHSL 2026 selection is a two-tier computer-based process followed by a skill test for certain posts:

  1. Tier 1 (Computer Based Exam — Qualifying): An objective-type online test of 60 minutes covering four sections. Tier 1 marks are not counted in final merit — they determine shortlisting for Tier 2.
  2. Tier 2 (Computer Based Exam — Merit): A multi-module online exam held on one day. Module 1 of Section 2 covers Mathematical Abilities and Reasoning (merit-based). Module 2 includes English and General Awareness. A Computer Knowledge Module and Skill Test / Typing Test are qualifying modules within Tier 2.
  3. Skill Test / Typing Test: Qualifying nature. Typing speed test for LDC/JSA and PA/SA posts. DEO candidates take a Data Entry Speed Test. Minimum 8,000 key depressions per hour required for DEO posts.

No interview is conducted. Final merit is based solely on Tier 2 performance.

📝 How to Apply

  1. Visit the official SSC website at ssc.gov.in and complete your One-Time Registration (OTR) if you have not already done so.
  2. Log in to your OTR account and click Apply against the SSC CHSL 2026 notification.
  3. Fill in personal details, educational qualifications, exam centre preferences, and post choices.
  4. Upload your photograph via the live camera capture tool on the SSC portal. Uploaded photo files are not accepted — you must take a live photo at the time of application.
  5. Upload your scanned signature in black ink against a plain white background.
  6. Pay the application fee of Rs. 100 through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Debit/Credit Card. SC, ST, PwBD, Women, and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted from the fee.
  7. Submit the form and save the confirmation page with your Application Reference Number for future use.
