Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognised university or institution. There is no minimum percentage requirement specified. Final-year degree students are not eligible — the degree must be complete.

Candidates must be Indian nationals. Citizens of Nepal, Bhutan, and persons of Indian origin from specified countries can also apply subject to a certificate of eligibility from the Government of India.

🏆 Selection Process

  1. Paper I — Written Exam (Objective): General Ability and Intelligence test. 250 marks, 2 hours. Multiple-choice questions testing analytical reasoning, aptitude, and awareness.
  2. Paper II — Written Exam (Descriptive): General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension. 200 marks, 3 hours. Tests language skills and knowledge of current affairs, governance, and social issues.
  3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST): Conducted for candidates who qualify the written exam. Height, chest, and physical tasks are assessed. Qualifying in nature.
  4. Medical Standard Test: Physical fitness and medical standards check at an approved Armed Forces / CAPF Medical Centre.
  5. Personality Test / Interview: 150 marks. Assessed by a UPSC board for leadership traits, communication, and suitability for paramilitary command roles.
  6. Final Merit List: Based on Written Exam (450) + Personality Test (150) = 600 marks total.
